BENEFITS AVAILABLE FOR KNOX COUNTY EMPLOYEES


 

1.                  ICMA Retirement Corporation - This is a deferred retirement option offered by the county but is not funded in anyway by the county.  Forms are available in the Treasurer’s Office.

2.                  VALIC Compensation Plan   - This is a deferred retirement option offered by the county but is not funded in anyway by the county. (Contact person is Michael McKee  309- 734-2926)

3.                  Direct Deposit (Any bank or any one of the following credit unions – Need a deposit slip or voided check turned into Payroll)

4.                  CREDIT UNIONS: Gale Credit Union -631 N. Henderson St. Galesburg  343-1777 Heritage Credit Union -1980 National Blvd. Galesburg  344-2001 Midwest Credit Union -1215 Monmouth Blvd. Galesburg  342-8151. Must go to the credit union of choice to fill out enrollment form and they will mail it to our office

5.                  AFLAC: American Family Life Assurance Company - This is a separate insurance option offered by the county but is not funded by the county. (Contact person is Pat Rader 368-8118)

6.                  IMRF Pension – This is mandatory for anyone working twenty hours a week or a guaranteed thousand hours a year.

7.                  Byerly Life – Illinois Group Decreasing Term Life Insurance offered to employees participating in IMRF (pension plan) and is not funded in anyway by the county.  

8.                  Health Insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield)-Offered to all employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Knox County contributes a percentage towards the health insurance premium.

9.                  Life Insurance (Fort Dearborn Life)-Offered to all employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Knox County contributes a percentage towards the life insurance premium.

10.              Dental Insurance (Fort Dearborn Life-Blue Cross Blue Shield)-Voluntary policy, can enroll at anytime and county does not contribute towards premium.

11.              Flex Plan-Offered to employees as a tax deferred benefit for dependent care and medical care coverage. Employees need not be enrolled in Knox County Group health plan in order to participate, but need to work at least 30 hours per week.

12.              United Way – Can be deducted from payroll in any biweekly amount desired.   Forms are available in our office and must be resubmitted prior to January 1 of each year.
